Holbox Island:

Holbox Island is a paradise, our happy island has no roads (and we want it to stay that way), the white sand beaches are shaded by palm trees, the flamingos are in their natural habitat, cocktails are colorful, plenty of hammocks to rest and amazing sunsets to enjoy every day.

Our island is small but there are many, many activities to enjoy.

What to do in Holbox?

Bioluminescence: Bioluminescence is a natural phenomenon that illuminates the sea as a result of the action of microorganisms called “plankton” that trigger a light effect when they collide with the waves.

The result is a show that reaches magic limits, a “must” you need live on your next visit to Holbox.

Swim with the Whale Shark:

Every year, the largest Whale Shark community in the world is found off the coast of Holbox’s Island. Let yourself be amazed by these gentle but giant sea mammals.

Whale Sharks can grow up to 45 feet/ft (15 meters) and can weigh up to 15 tons. Every year, they migrate in large numbers to the coast of the Yucatan Península from mid-May to mid-September after a journey of more than 6,000 kms. These gentle giants do no harm and do not attack humans.

Rent a bike:

Definitely one of the best ways to discover the Island. The roads in Holbox are relatively flat and you can easily bike to a beach that is probably deserted and enjoy it just for yourself.

Rent a bike for a day or for a couple of hours and discover all the magic of Holbox, visit Punta Cocos (3 kms) or Punta Mosquito (2.5 kms)
